Stop the Abuse is a conference that provides men and women from all professional and cultural backgrounds with the newest knowledge on domestic violence prevention. Our mission is to build safe communities by hosting an interactive, educational conference that provides individuals with the newest knowledge and the right tools to stand against domestic violence. Be a part of the conversation #stoptheabuse. Stop the Abuse is a charity fundraiser supporting domestic violence prevention programs across Ontario. Year One: Stop the Abuse 2015 On Wednesday, June 10, 2015 – 126 professionals from social services, the Government, educators, police officers, students and community advocators gathered at IBM Canada in Markham to hear expert speakers discuss the newest knowledge on preventing domestic violence. Stop the Abuse in partnership with the York Region Centre for Community Safety; the hub where 29 agencies work together to end violence against women and children in York Region raised funds to support the Moving Forward 2015 Foundation and The Next Step program.
